Research & Development

PROTEGO® operates the world’s largest research center for the experimental study of flame arresters. We have been testing all types of flame arresters for over 60 years. Our test facility has the necessary test gases and equipment, as well as experienced technical staff for the safe conducting of both explosion and fire tests. Customers benefit from our experience and expertise. PROTEGO® has successfully tested and received independent third party approvals in conformity with both European and international standards for all devices we sell. We support our customers by developing and optimizing devices for protection against overpressure and vacuum, deflagrations, detonations, and fire.

State of the Art Flow Test Facility

Our products stand for quality and safety. The world's largest flow test facility of its kind, it is also an indispensable tool for internal research and development to enable correct scientific measurement of flow and meet specific customer requirements. All PROTEGO® valves and flame arresters are flow tested to assure safe operation in service.

Engineering Service

We assist our customers with detailed tank modelling and safety analyses beyond the sphere of PROTEGO® device application.

Our areas of expertise include:

PROTEGO® Academy - Skilled and Competent through Advanced Training

The PROTEGO® Academy organizes special training courses which provide our customers the ability to improve their skills and expert knowledge of Protective Systems in hazardous areas. So as a manufacturer of Protective Systems, we contribute to preventative plant safety strategies and play a key role in customer awareness training.

PROTEGO® Authorized Repair Centre (PARC)

We have built a network of PROTEGO® authorized service partners over the last several years who can assist with and manage maintenance procedures on site. The PARCs, being certified service partners, meet the requirements of the PROTEGO® Works Standard in the fields of human resources, organization, workshop equipment, machinery, and quality and environmental management.
