Juergen Kern studied mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Konstanz. After his scientific work in the field of automotive safety systems, he worked for automotive and rail industry. He came to the field of explosion protection as lateral entrant in 2017 and soon caught fire about this topic.
Juergen Kern joined RICO Sicherheitstechnik AG in Switzerland as Head of Engineering and has been intensively working in the development and approval of explosion isolation systems. Currently he is Head of Technical Compliance and in this function working as Ex authorized person and responsible for product certifications. Since 2022 Juergen Kern is member of the CEN standardization committee for explosion protection systems.
