Connecting the Combustible Dust Community
Chris is the Managing Director and Lead Researcher at DustEx Research, a global organization dedicated to raising awareness of combustible dust hazards and preventing fire and explosion incidents.
With a background in detonation, explosion, and blast research, he worked as an engineering consultant and software developer in the defense industry before earning his PhD in coal dust and hybrid mixture explosion modeling. He then transitioned to online education to connect and share knowledge within the combustible dust community. A recognized expert in combustible dust research, Chris has published over 15 peer-reviewed journal articles and presented at conferences worldwide, including in Canada, China, Norway, the UK, Poland, Germany, and the U.S. He has also produced over 250 podcast episodes for Dust Safety Science and moderated more than 150 webinars, further advancing industry knowledge and safety practices.
