If an explosive dust atmosphere exists in the raw gas compartment of the Herding® Filtersystem depending on the operating mode of the cleaning system, the Herding® Sinter-Plate Filter acts as a DustExZoneBarrier and, therefore, no explosive dust atmosphere exists on the clean gas side. The analysis of ignition sources and ignition hazards must consider the origin of the ignition sources, as there are:
✓ Ignition sources on the unit itself
✓ Ignition sources entering from the outside
✓ Ignition sources from the dust
If ignition sources exist in spite of preventive measures, the Herding® Filtersystem must be equipped with explosion protection devices.
