Herding® SAFETY TECHNOLOGY
Preventive and construction-related safety measures are required for handling combustible dusts in the deposited and
whirled-up states.
Herding® Filtersystems with Herding® Sinter-Plate Filters are safely adapted to each specific application based on our many years of practice-related development work and our participation in VDI, VDMA, GDV committees responsible for drawing up directives and standards. The safety-relevant properties of dusts are determined jointly with certified institutes.
- Training courses and workshops for owner-users round off the filter technology offering:
-
In-house and out of house training courses as well as workshops on the subject of ATEX
-
Definition of zones and their areas of propagation
-
Analysis of ignition sources and ignition hazards
-
Safety-related assessment of plants
If an explosive dust atmosphere exists in the raw gas compartment of the Herding® Filtersystem depending on the operating mode of the cleaning system, the Herding® Sinter-Plate Filter acts as a DustExZoneBarrier and, therefore, no explosive dust atmosphere exists on the clean gas side. The analysis of ignition sources and ignition hazards must consider the origin of the ignition sources, as there are:
-
Ignition sources on the unit itself
-
Ignition sources entering from the outside
-
Ignition sources from the dust
If ignition sources exist in spite of preventive measures, the Herding® Filtersystem must be equipped with explosion protection devices.
