Successful continuation of the 3rd German Fire and Explosion Safety Congress - Retrospect

On the 10th and 11th of May, more than 80 participants from the fields of fire and explosion safety met at the 3rd German Fire and Explosion Safety Congress in the Congress Center Westfalenhallen in Dortmund.

In 2017, the Programme Committee consisting of Prof. Dr. Uli Barth (University of Wuppertal), Dirk Aschenbrenner (President of the VFDB), Stefan Penno (President of IND EX®) and Gerhard Nied (Explosion Safety Expert at AZO GmbH + Co. KG) again succeeded in offering the congress participants an attractive and comprehensive programme regarding the subject of fire and explosion safety. The feedback from more than 80 congress participants was highly positive. The articles on current innovations in regulations and the scientific lectures were supplemented with topics which had a practical relevance. The live explosion demonstration rounded off the programme on the first day of the congress. In the evening the organizer, Easyfairs from Munich, invited the participants to a dinner which also offered live music.

On the second day, the congress participants visited the Signal Iduna Park as part of an excursion, which focused on fire protection and the current fire protection concept. This excursion was rounded off by a visit to the “south stand”, the home cabin and the stadium jail. In addition, the participants were given an overview of the latest products in the field of explosion safety during a guided tour of the trade fair for bulk materials.

VDSI points are also available - and good contacts to the experts in any case.

shaping the future of industrial explosion protection.
